The Sharpness of Truth and the World’s Intolerance Toward It
"The Sharpness of Truth and the World's Intolerance Toward It"
Original Verses from Tartam Vani:
Kirantan 125/41
"Jhazhun kahe dukh sahune laage, sat vachan na sahevay।
Sat sahue uthapiyun, asat brahmand na samay।।"
When a piercing truth is spoken, it feels painful — people cannot bear it. What was once true has been buried and reversed by the world, while falsehood has spread so vastly that even the cosmos cannot contain it.
The world hides the truth for comfort, while untruth expands so wildly that it overwhelms everything, pressing heavily on the very universe.
Kirantan 128/5
"Saanchu kahe dukh laagse, saanchu te kehene na suhaay।
Pragat kahiye mohonth upar, tyaare dohela te sahune thaay।।"
Truth, when spoken, causes pain — it doesn't please the mind. If it's spoken openly to someone's face, it wounds their attachment and ego — and thus feels harsh to all.
People prefer sweet illusions. When someone holds up a mirror of truth, they see it as an offense — though that mirror merely reflects what is real.
🔷
Summary Interpretation:
Mahamati Prannath is revealing:
- Truth is often veiled or reversed by the world,
- Falsehood has spread so broadly, it can no longer be contained,
- And when someone dares to speak the truth, the world turns against them — for this world prefers pleasing lies over unsettling truths.

Devotional Song: "When Truth Is Spoken, It Hurts"
"This hymn speaks of those truths
which make the world uneasy…
Truths that even the speaker suffers for…
Yet they are the very light of the soul…"
When truth is spoken, hearts feel pain,
The mind resists its flame.
The world has twisted the sacred truth,
And lured all souls to shame.
The world has buried what was true,
And dressed up lies in grace.
Falsehood swells across the stars,
With no more room or place.
When truth is said to someone's face,
It strikes like sharpened spear.
It wounds the pride and cuts the fog
Of ego, lust, and fear.
Those who hold a mirror up,
Are met with angry blows.
Those who wake the world from sleep,
Are mocked by friend and foe.
Now listen to the Tartam Voice,
And break the knot of night.
What Mahamati spoke as truth
Alone is inner light.
"Truth may seem bitter…
But it is the nectar of life.
The voice of Mahamati
Leads us to the light within.
Do not run from it — enter it."
